La película inicia donde termina Evangelion 3.33, con Shinji, Asuka y Rei a la deriva, hasta que alguien llega a recogerlos; después de esto, vamos a ver lo usual, un Shinji con depresión, Asuka semidesnuda y Rei sin saber quien es o que hacer.

Vemos nuevamente a personajes anteriores, ahora con 14 años mas y con una vida totalmente diferente.

Vemos mas unidades Eva, con o sin piloto.

Un par de recuerdos muy chidos.

Y un final, el cual nuevamente nos dejó sin entender absolutamente nada.
