La historia de The Seven Deadly Sins como una serie de anime aparentemente había llegado a su fin, en la mente de muchos fanáticos del anime, con el lanzamiento de la película The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light. Sin embargo, parece que el servicio de streaming Netflix, que ya alberga los episodios animados y las películas asociadas, está revisitando este universo al confirmar que no solo llegará una nueva película este año, sino que será la primera de dos que planean. explora la descendencia de dos de los personajes principales de la franquicia.

Si bien se supo a fines del año pasado que The Seven Deadly Sins regresaría este año, el servicio de transmisión ha publicado nueva información sobre la próxima película que continuará con el legado de The Sins.

El anuncio oficial de Netflix sobre el próximo lanzamiento de The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1, que seguirá la historia del hijo de Meliodas y Elizabeth, dice así:

Bob Shirahata dirige este anime derivado del exitoso manga The Seven Deadly Sins de Nakaba Suzuki, quien ha escrito una nueva historia original: “Dividida en dos partes, la historia seguirá a Tristan, el hijo de los protagonistas de The Seven Deadly Sins, Meliodas y Elizabeth. Tristan hereda el poder del Clan de la Diosa y puede curar las heridas y lesiones de las personas, pero a menudo termina lastimando a otros debido a su incapacidad para controlar el poder del Clan Demoníaco. Para proteger a su familia, Tristan se dirige al Castillo de Edimburgo y se encuentra con una gran cantidad de nuevos amigos en el camino”.

Actualmente, la historia creada por Nakaba Suzuki continúa a través de las páginas del manga derivado, Four Knights of the Apocalypse, que sigue a una nueva banda de héroes que navegan por el mundo que tantos han llegado a conocer y amar a lo largo de los años. Lanzada a principios de este año, la serie aún no ha sido seleccionada para una serie de anime propia, pero considerando la popularidad de los Sins, definitivamente no nos sorprendería.
